Are you a recent Engineering Graduate with a passion for engineering and technology? We are looking for enthusiastic Graduate Control Systems Engineers to join our dynamic team. You'll play a key role in delivering innovative process control system engineering services.  

As a Graduate Control Systems Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain advanced automation and instrumentation systems across many industries including intelligent transport systems, mining, utilities, water, natural resources and power.

You'll join a team at the forefront of pioneering solutions in Process Control, PLC, SCADA, Safety, Telemetry, and Industrial IT. Working with the dynamic Industry X team, you will play a key role in tackling exciting challenges and creating impactful systems to support our clients in process intensive industries.

Our Industry X engineering team provides electrical and process control engineering, procurement, construction and management services to the mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries across Australia and overseas. 

What You'll Do: 

  • System Design and Upgrades: Collaborate on designing and implementing new PLC and SCADA systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Automation and Instrumentation: Assist in managing and troubleshooting automation and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Commissioning and Fault Diagnosis: Support the commissioning of new systems and help diagnose and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Contribute to creating high-quality technical documentation, including system design specifications, operational procedures, testing validation plans, maintenance manuals and drawings.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with diverse teams and stakeholders to meet project requirements.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all systems comply with safety standards and participate in safety audits and assessments. TUV Certification is a plus.

What You'll Need: 

  • Education: A degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Up to 12 months of experience with industrial control systems design, programming, and implementation. Experience in industries like intelligent transport systems, mining, utilities, water, natural resources, or power is a plus but not essential.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of control system programming languages (e.g. ladder logic, structured text, function block).
  • Familiarity with multiple PLC brands/platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Schneider M580 Programming and Wonderware (Intouch) is highly regarded.
  • Basic understanding of industrial network/communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
  • Basic experience with instrumentation/field devices, wiring, and terminations.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus

Desired Skills & Attributes: 

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Practical experience with automation systems (commissioning and fault-finding experience is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to create functional specifications, reports, manuals, testing (FAT and SAT) documents.
