The speed at which the recruitment team reached out to me after each stage of the hiring process was impressive. The interview process includes an online assessment and a face-to-face interview. I greatly appreciate that Ryan Low, the previous Quarry Operations Manager, drove an hour to give me a tour of the quarry, providing me with a clear understanding of the work environment during the hiring process.

What questions were you asked in your interviews?
During the interview, I was questioned about my interest in the Concrete and Aggregates business, as well as my university project work and how I managed challenging situations as a student. Honestly, I don't recall the other questions, as much of the interview seemed like a casual conversation where I was able to speak freely.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Speaking from experience, no matter how much you prepare for an interview, it's impossible to answer all questions correctly. The best approach is to be honest and speak confidently. Interviewers don't expect technical answers to everything; they want to understand who you are and whether you'd be a good fit for the company. So, speak freely and honestly. You can ace your interview by treating it not as an interrogation, but as a meaningful conversation where you present your best self.

Learn about what the business does and some theory behind the manufacturing processes so you aren't going in blind. Doing an internship here would be the best way of getting to know the company and seeing whether the fit is good.
