The company

Delivering a better world.
At AECOM we’re driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world.  Our clients count on us to think without limits and we partner with them on projects spanning transportation, buildings, water, governments, public realm, energy and the environment, to build legacies for generations to come.

Ideas have no borders and this ethos is embedded in our culture. As an undergraduate, you will have the chance to work alongside like-minded professionals and industry leaders on iconic projects that help shape and connect our cities and communities.

The Role

Our Environment team helps private and public sector clients in New Zealand and around the world, deliver for their stakeholders while achieving compliance, promoting resilience and reducing, or eliminating, impacts and risks to our communities and our natural environment.  We’re listening to clients and the communities we serve to improve lives and livelihoods, and to create sustainable legacies for generations to come.

As a Graduate Environmental Scientist, you will assist with planning, organising, executing, and reporting for projects of varying size and complexity for clients across different industries.  With an uncompromising commitment to health and safety, client service and technical excellence, you will be at ease preparing reports, participating in field work, liaising with subcontractors, communicating with clients, preparing tenders, and promoting innovative solutions for your clients.

Day to day tasks consist of:

  • Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations
  • Site Validation Reports
  • Waste Classifications
