Your role

ABC Commercial manages a range of media businesses that create, distribute and market content, products and services related to the programming and Charter activities of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The division develops products including music, books, magazines, licensed merchandise, and adult and kids' video entertainment. ABC Commercial also distributes ABC and other content domestically and internationally to other broadcasters and platforms.

ABC Commercial is seeking a proactive and energetic Digital Marketing Coordinator to create and implement best-practice marketing and digital communication campaigns across channels for ABC Commercial. This is your opportunity to contribute to a high performing team environment and support the delivery of ABC Commercial’s overall and business unit KPIs.

With guidance from the Head of ABC Publishing and Licensing, you will:

  • Create marketing campaigns across digital, social and third-party platforms to support priority ABC Commercial projects
  • Create, edit and publish images, videos and written content for the ABC Shop social media accounts and website, and ABC Commercial website.
  • Produce ABC Shop’s email newsletter, including but not limited to; liaising with Commercial businesses, planning, copywriting, image selection, approvals, analytics, set up and send, A/B testing, database acquisition and retention activity.
  • Coordinate ABC Commercial’s calendar of promotional campaigns on ABC platforms including television, radio and online; brief ABC’s in-house creative agency to produce television and radio promotions for allocated campaigns and traffic approvals with stakeholders.
  • Analyse and report on Commercial’s on-air campaigns to assess the impact of promotional inventory.
  • Develop publicity relationships and seek opportunities within the ABC for key releases and brands; integrate Commercial products into wider ABC platforms, campaigns and activity.
  • Ensure Commercial objectives are understood and ABC audience developments are shared with the Commercial team.

About you

You’ll be a self-motivated person with strong organisation skills, great attention to detail and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment. You will have proven experience working in marketing, coupled with a thorough understanding of Australian Broadcasting Corporation content. You will also have:

  • Qualifications in Marketing and Media are desirable.
  • Demonstrated accomplished experience in developing effective marketing, publicity, digital and promotion campaigns through owned, earned and paid media, including social and third-party platforms.
  • Demonstrated accomplished experience coordinating marketing campaigns from brief to execution to post-campaign reporting, and experience in managing social media channels and community management.
  • Demonstrated writing and copy-editing skills and experience writing newsletters, social media briefs and various marketing collateral.
  • Proven relevant knowledge in editorial and publicity support to media businesses; developing communications and publicity plans, inclusive of social media.
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in computer applications for marketing, with sound knowledge of Photoshop, basic Adobe suite, Canva, Salesforce, Meltwater, Khoros and Facebook Ads Manager; proven ability to apply new/changing software applications.
