Your role

You will take responsibility for content selection and treatment through the creation and editing of high-quality content to be presented online in text, audio, video, and still images. 

The role will also involve:

• Contributing innovative ideas to improve ABC News presentation on digital platforms.
• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with internal staff at all levels, and relevant external organisations.
• Liaising across relevant ABC content areas to ensure effective cross-media production.

Digital Journalist roles may earn an average of A$72,000 to A$85,000. (Source: Glassdoor)

Digital Journalist roles in the Australian Broadcasting Corporation earn A$85,000 PA (pro rata) + 15.4% nominated superannuation.

About you

Here's what ABC is looking for in this role:

You have relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in journalism and have a passion for producing content online. Your experience and skills will include:

• Ability to produce accurate and concise copy, and ability to produce engaging, digital-first content that will engage a diverse audience.
• A thorough understanding of the way news stories is presented online, including on social media platforms.
• A demonstrated awareness of new media technologies and platforms.
• Sophisticated stakeholder managing skills with an ability to engage staff at all levels and engage relevant external stakeholders.
