Your role

An ABC internship is a period of practical work experience arranged between the educational institution, the ABC, and the student. The ABC Audio News and Current Affairs Internship is a 6-week learning program where participants will be trained in the technical production of audio news and current affairs. You will learn about the editing, publishing and live on-air technical production of news and current affairs content for radio broadcasts and podcast production. 

Training & development

Many people come to ABC with qualifications in journalism, radio, online, or a relevant course suited to a corporate area. However, there are courses available to keep you up to date with skills or systems unique to the ABC or to keep your industry knowledge relevant.

About you

To be eligible to apply for the ABC News Internship, you must:

  • Identify as living with a disability
  • Be currently studying audio production, journalism, media, communications and/or related area, and are required to complete an internship as part of your course. 
  • Have a genuine interest in news and audio production
