Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides a range of modification, production, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence's Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. About the opportunity

We are seeking Graduate Electrical & Avionics Engineers to support the Aerospace Engineering and Production (AEP) Capability.

As a member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for undertaking and developing your core knowledge about Aircraft Electrical & Avionics systems. This role will focus on the development of a graduate engineer into a fully trained Electrical & Avionics Engineer to support numerous Boeing Sustainment or Modification programs including Autonomous Vehicles (ATS), Super Hornet, Growler, C-17A, E-7A Wedgetail, P-8A Poseidon and CH-47F Chinook.

We currently have vacancies in Nowra NSW, RAAF Base Amberley QLD and RAAF Base Williamtown Newcastle NSW.

As an Electrical & Avionics Engineer you will:

  • Work with customers to develop and document electrical and avionic system requirements;
  • Analyse and translate requirements into system architecture, interface specifications, wiring design and electrical equipment installation design;
  • Test and validate designs to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements;
  • Provide Engineering support for electrical and avionics systems over the product lifecycle;
  • Participate in engineering design activities and engineering investigations relating to aircraft electrical, radar, communications, navigation and electronic warfare subsystem designs;
  • Develop engineering artefacts within the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) environment; and
  • Support Engineering initiatives as required.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a collaborative team approach, well developed analytical skills and excellent written and verbal skills. 

To be considered for the role you will:

  • Have recently graduated (or about to graduate) with tertiary Engineering qualifications in Aerospace and/or Electrical specialisations from a nationally accredited program;
  • Must have a GPA of 5.0 or higher.
  • Ability to work successfully unsupervised and in a team environment; and
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
