About the opportunity

We are seeking a Graduate Industrial Engineer to support to support the Aerospace Engineering and Production (AEP) Capability.

Our Industrial Engineers are leaders in innovation, development, evaluation, and implementation of methods and systems in support of complex manufacturing processes. They have the unique opportunity to support the fabrication and assembly for the next generation Airpower Teaming System and existing platforms such as E-7 Wedgetail, and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and much more.

This role is based in Brisbane, primarily supporting programs and facilities in SE Qld.

As a Graduate Industrial Engineer you will:

  • Apply basic Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing, engineering and service operations.
  • Develop models, databases and spreadsheets to analyse data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics), and provide summary analysis and metrics as directed by higher level employees for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers).
  • Apply basic industrial engineering techniques and concepts to product and process design teams throughout all phases of product lifecycle, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements.
  • Researches, designs, develops, improves, and implements processes as directed to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilisation.
  • Utilises engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to assist in developing optimal process designs and efficient utilisation of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.
  • Analyses and supports the design of the value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).

 About you

  • Have recently graduated (or about to graduate) with tertiary qualifications in one of the engineering disciplines, Industrial, Mechanical, Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics (Dual degrees accepted).
  • Have a GPA of 5.0 and above.
  • Competent in the use of PC, MS Windows and MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work successfully unsupervised and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work experience in Data Analytics and Continuous Improvement.
