The role

Cardno is looking to recruit a Graduate Traffic Engineer to join our Brisbane team in 2022.

Located in Fortitude Valley in our global headquarters, we are conveniently located within a few minutes' walk to the train station and are surrounded by cafes and restaurants in the bustling King Street precinct.

Ideally we are seeking graduates that are due to complete their studies by the end of 2021 and can be available for full time, permanent work in January 2022. As a graduate on our established 2 year Asia Pacific Graduate Development Program, you will learn all facets of engineering techniques, relevant software programs, and gain essential business skills to ensure your success in a global consulting environment.

You will be Making a Difference by –

  • Providing accurate and efficient traffic engineering advice for clients and the business unit in accordance with project timeframes and budgets,
  • Contributing to technical assessment in respect to traffic engineering, car parking, transport design, road safety, traffic management, active transport and public transport,
  • Contributing to design, planning and modelling solutions within time and budget constraints,
  • Preparing technical documentation for review,
  • Undertaking independent studies, analyses and interpretations to form conclusions in line with project requirements,
  • Undertaking work related training and self-development for career advancement
  • Collaborating with both project staff within a team of technical specialists

About you

To be successful you will display –

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering with completion by 2021
  • A passion for traffic engineering and/or transport planning
  • Proven ability to learn and apply new concepts
  • The ability to work and collaborate within a team environment through well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills to be able to present and articulate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • A positive, initiative driven and proactive attitude
