Opportunity Expired
This internship is with TDMN and is facilitated by the CSIRO’s Generation STEM Links program.
As an intern, you will work closely with the owner of TDMN to test, refine, and improve the sMart Lock mechanism. You will be involved in both designing and testing components, focusing on redesigning and strengthening the plastic housing and reviewing spring designs.
As a member of a small and dynamic team, this role will be perfect for a student with an interest in both design and testing who is keen to see the real-world impact of their work.
TDMN was founded in 2018 after years of investigating a coin-less and tracking solution for shopping trolleys. They designed a product that would use mobile technology to unlock and track abandoned shopping trolleys, providing a smart and informative product for retail companies. In 2019 they commenced our R&D journey and had their first working prototype by October 2019. In 2020 we received an AC grant along with an MVP grant. In 2021 Smart Lock won an Australian design award for innovation and design excellence.
