Job Overview

Sourcing and Selection of new and alternative components for New Product Development Projects and Cost Reduction Purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing and Selection of components. Supporting design engineers thru identifying new and alternative Active,
  • Passive, Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Components from preferred suppliers/ manufacturers by:
    • Providing electrical parametric table comparison of components/parts for the design engineers’ easier review.
    • Answer all technical queries from the design engineers regarding the proposed part
    • Making sure all necessary documents are needed to have the part approved by the design engineers (eg. datasheet,
    • Material Declaration, RoHS CoC and REACH CoC).

• Bill of Materials (BOM) Scrubbing / Costing. Development of Bill of Materials (BOM) by:

  • Obtaining the best price and lead time of components /parts using Emerson’s Supplier Contract Pricing or requesting a direct quotation to the manufacturers/suppliers.
  • Finding alternate components which costs less but have equal or better electrical parameters and quality for further Potential Savings opportunities

• Electronic Board Cost Estimate (Board Teardown Analysis)

  • Identifying and recognizing different types of components/ parts used in a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembly for Cost Estimate as well as technology used in the product.
  • Conduct comparison with other Emerson products in terms of parts count, cost and technology as well as providing recommendations and insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (Preferred)
  • Fresh graduates or 1-2 years work experience
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Well-developed analytical skills, articulate, innovative and confident
  • Able to work on own initiative, deal with more than one project at a time, can work under pressure and tight deadlines, and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Flexible to work on any shifts as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written across all functional groups
  • Working knowledge of Materials and Chemicals
  • Self-starter and Team Player
