Data Analyst - Search, Trust and Safety

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Social Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in data and analytics.
• Experience with SQL database queries/analysis, writing code in web or mobile development language (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Python, GO, PHP, Android, or iOS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in model development and machine learning.
• Proficiency in programming and coding including R and Python.
• Excellent communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts with cross-regional and cross-functional stakeholders.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. You will work globally and cross-functionally with Google developers and Product Managers to navigate challenging online safety situations and handle abuse and fraud cases at Google. As a Data Analyst for the Trust and Safety team, you defend the integrity of Google, its users, and partners worldwide. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

• Have excellent product policy enforcement capabilities on known spam and risk-related patterns and manual investigations.
• Identify new or emerging patterns and propose and implement solutions of moderate-to-high complexity and scope.
• Build scale and efficiency through automation and intelligence and drive workflow improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as Engineering, Sales, and Legal to enhance automation, update policies, fix product loopholes, and provide a better online experience for our users.
