Our Technology and Cyber team specialise in working with clients to proactively manage technology and information security risks.  We help set governance strategies, design frameworks and respond to time-critical cyber and privacy-related matters.  As a graduate, you will be exposed to all aspects of our Technology and Cyber services such as:

  • Cyber Risk: Providing expert advice that extends beyond the theory, and working to roadmap, design and deliver practical initiatives that build ongoing security capability in organisations;
  • Digital Forensic: Conducting forensic imaging of computers, mobiles and technology to preserve, collect and analyse as part of a detailed forensic process for disputes and investigations;
  • eDiscovery: Handling critical and sensitive data in legal proceedings, including data collection, preservation and processing of large file sets;
  • Incident Handling and Response: Experience incident response and crisis management in high-paced environments, to effectively resolve cyber incidents and implement improvements for the future; and
  • Information Security: Challenging your technical and written skills in penetration testing and vulnerability management, security risk assessments and developing fundamental security initiatives for clients.

You will work directly with, learn, and be mentored by, our experienced cyber team including former CISOs, Defence and Intelligence community senior leadership, national security advisors and leaders in cyber academia. You will have the opportunity to work closely with peers in the cyber team (both technically and strategically), national security team and broader Canberra team on a myriad of opportunities, both locally and nationally.

This job definitely requires some prior knowledge, but I couldn’t imagine a better place to start off. McGrathNicol has already given me so many skills that are essential to graduates in their first job.

Looking back at a completed report or a clean model is incredibly satisfying after unpicking a business from the inside out and communicating valuable findings to our clients.
