Minjar Gold is an Australian gold explorer, developer and producer. Since 2009, Minjar Gold has developed and operated assets spread throughout Western Australia and Queensland. Located south-west of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and currently employs around 250 people to run the underground mining, open cut and ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and it offers all of the facilities that you would expect in a large regional town.

We are experiencing a period of exciting growth at our Pajingo gold operation and currently have a vacancies for ONE permanent full-time Graduate Mine Geologist to be based in Charters Towers on an 8/6 DS 7/7 NS roster.

Role Responsibilities:

• We want you to learn, develop and use the mine geological processes to achieve position related goals and contribute to the overall cost and safety targets across our operations.
• You’ll support the collaboration and sharing of information across the Geology and Mine Planning Departments to optimise the extraction of the mineral resource.
• We will teach you how the Geo’s maintain and validate mineral resource models, grade control systems and geological databases.
• You will be involved in the accurate and timely reconciliation of grade control and block model tonnes & grade.
• Develop a sound understanding of the End-of-Month reporting requirements across site.
• You’ll be involved with resource definition drilling programs to identify gold distribution and geometry within the mine operation.
• We’ll teach you what you need to know about compliance with our environmental procedures and standards.
• AND….we’ll get you to create accurate and sensible-to-mine ore blockouts from the grade control data meeting the requirements of the mining operation.

Ideally you will posses:

• A formal qualification in Geology and either be a recent Graduate or hold up to 2 years of previous experience and be looking for an inroad back into the industry.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well within a team environment.
• C Class Drivers License (manual).
• A willingness to reside in a residential location based in Northern Queensland.
