Your role

The Accounting Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on accounting experience and learn about the various aspects of the accounting function at Mintwell. Mintwell internships provide entry-level professionals with real-world learning opportunities in a fun environment to help build future careers. The Accounting Intern will work directly under the supervision of the Senior Corporate Accountant but will assist other members of the accounting team and will provide outstanding service to internal clients. Your placement will be undertaken as a part of your work experience through your university work-integrated learning module. The experience includes side-by-side learning, mentorship, and training in a hands-on environment alongside seasoned industry leaders while getting exposure to career opportunities in accounting.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Document/review internal financial process and recommended changes to management
  • Assist in designing financial reports and provide trend reporting and other analysis on an ad-hoc basis
  • Assist in creating budget templates
  • Analyse and research financial information pertaining to statements of operations, assets, liabilities, and capital.
  • Assist with performing research on technical accounting matters, as they may arise
  • All other duties as assigned

Over the Work Experience period, Mintwell will also assess your performance and commitment to the program should you wish to progress to permanent employment. Depending on role availability and the succession of the business, employment opportunities may or may not be possible. If successful, all terms of employment will be mentioned in your contract
