Police Bank is looking for a full time People Assistant to join our growing Support Office in Surry Hills.

About the role:

We’ve got an exciting position within our People & Marketing Division, and we’re looking for an ambitious person who is ready to kick-start their career in one of Australia’s fastest growing Mutual Banks.

We’re looking for someone who is keen to become a ‘People & Marketing superstar’ and support the effective and efficient delivery of the operational activities of the Division. This position will support the whole division and will have exposure to activities, which may include industrial employee relations, remuneration and benefits, performance management, product, marketing and partnerships.

The People Division is a broad and collaborative team that includes the Product, Marketing and Partnerships and Engagement departments, meaning the successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of Bank processes through assisting with administrative and project work in these areas when required.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide accurate, confidential and professional administrative support across the People Division for employees in Police Bank.
  • Demonstrate lateral thinking when completing day to day tasks and problem solving.
  • Provide superior internal service in the execution of all tasks by displaying courtesy and responsiveness.
  • Assist with the administration of People processes including performance review, probation review, remuneration, L & D and other processes as required.
  • Support the administration, reporting and research requirements for the People Division when required, including Product, Partnerships and Engagement and Marketing.
  • Maintain People records by ensuring they are kept up to date and correct.
  • Maintain a continuous review of competitor analysis and identification of products, rates and fees.
  • Provide support creating and updating internal materials for internal business reference and understanding.
  • Assist in fact-finding tasks such as understanding product success and market opportunity as needed.
  • Proactively identify product opportunities based on market analysis and understanding.
  • Continuously assess and consider improvements for processes and systems used to ensure efficiency of the Division.
  • Undertake other duties as required by your manager or their delegate.
  • Adhere to all WHS requirements of the organisation and relevant associated legislation.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Recently graduated or currently undertaking tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, human resources or similar field.
  • Detailed understanding of use of MS Office programs.
  • Curiosity and willingness to recognise opportunities to learn new skills.
  • Demonstrated high level digital skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability or willingness to understand the underpinning principles that apply to the work of the People Division.
  • Demonstrated willingness to embrace organisational change including use of modern technology and an ability to analyse and problem solve in the context of change and continuous improvement.

The following skills are an advantage:

  • Experience or knowledge with an HRIS and or LMS.
