About the Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Business Analyst to join our team in Altona, VIC.

This position is designed to provide leadership and management of the financial aspects of Plant (operations) accounting and reporting. You will also be responsible for delivering and improving the broader corporate, management and financial accounting reporting and compliance, product costing, budgeting and planning, shareholder reporting, taxation, auditing and controls and compliance activities as required.

More specifically, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all production related transactions are recorded accurately, in a timely manner, in accordance with professional, statutory and internal accounting standards;
  • Providing business analysis support through analysing and evaluating financial, commercial and operational data to proactively identify opportunities for cost saving and improvements;
  • To lead and coordinate the plant business planning process including budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting while ensuring the plant business plans are aligned with key business objectives;
  • Completion of internal and external financial reporting in accordance with professional, statutory and internal accounting standards;
  • Minimising the exposure of the company to risk by monitoring controls and process compliance by the plant operations team and ensuring corrective actions are identified and implemented where required; and
  • Ensuring manufacturing accounting systems are maintained and revised as the manufacturing environment changes.

About You

The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting or similar, with demonstrated accounting and/or business analysis experience. You will have a membership with a recognised accounting body (CPA/ICA). Any previous experience with Australian Taxation or within a manufacturing environment will be highly regarded.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices; 
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills with an ability to identify problems and opportunities for improvement;
  • The ability to build strong trusting relationships and closely partner with stakeholders across sites;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the particular ability to influence with implementation of corrective actions and improvements;
  • Strong time management, prioritisation and organisational skills, including a keen sense of attention to detail while managing multiple competing demands without error;
  • A drive for taking initiative and seeking continuous improvement opportunities; and
  • A strong team-player focus with the ability to coach and lead across various levels of the organisation.
