Your role

Are you a recent graduate eager to kick-start your career and have a deep interest in Geotechnics? The QAL Graduate Development Program (GDP) offers a transformative two-year journey starting January 2025, designed to equip you with essential skills for success at QAL.

Reporting to the Tailings Superintendent, you will:

  • Ensure adherence to health, environmental, and community policies.
  • Develop deep insights into the tailings management and TSF operations.
  • Own and manage the day-to-day tailings deposition schedule.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance teams and contribute to site engineering standards.
  • Provide technical support to the technical team and production advisor during review and development of procedures and long/short term plans.
  • Manage Tailings Storage Facility data and report when required to different stakeholders.

About you

Requirements

  • Completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in Geotechnics or equivalent in the last 2 years or with an anticipated completion date before December 2024. 
  • A commitment to diversity, environment, health, safety, and society.
  • Strong communication, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Process-oriented with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in geotechnical/civil data analysis would be advantageous.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports.
