WHAT YOU’LL LOVE

We are excited to be recruiting our Operations leaders and problem solvers of tomorrow, in REMONDIS Australia’s 2024 Graduate Program!

With many of REMONDIS’ current leaders joining through previous graduate programs, we are proud of the reputation we have built globally, for investing in wonderful graduate talent.

Our commitment to your career goes way beyond the two-year program. You will be parachuted into hands-on placements covering all corners of our business and operations, giving you varied exposure, diverse experiences, and a breadth of knowledge.

You’ll get to explore the world of REMONDIS through multiple rotations with the aim of creating innovative and strong leaders within the Operations Team of a specific state in Australia. We will be looking for Graduates across Australia located in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, and South Australia.

This is a hands-on program where you will be working in an industrial environment supporting operations in depots, transit stations and recycling facilities. This isn’t a typical office job; you will be interacting and working with all levels of the waste and recycling industry, so be prepared to get your boots on!

You will have formal education in core areas (such as Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Logistics, Business and Commerce, Arts and Communication) and display strategic thinking, problem solving and flexibility, and be comfortable working in an industrial environment. We will collaborate with you in supporting your development, gaining powerful skills such as self-awareness, resilience, emotional intelligence, learning teamwork and collaborative values.

You will be joining our business at a time of exciting transformation, where you’ll grow from opportunities to take accountability. Yes, there will be formal learning and supercharged development, but you will not be in ‘training mode.’ Rather, your learning and growth will happen from being in a real-life setting, with exceptional mentors and a clear mission.

WHO WE ARE

REMONDIS is one of the world's largest recycling, service, and water companies. We are a privately owned family company headquartered in Germany, with over 40,000 employees and operations on four continents. We have been here in Australia since 1982.

The waste industry is evolving at a cracking pace. REMONDIS Australia is also during our own organisational evolution. We are building the systems, processes, and infrastructure we need to remain at the forefront of the circular economy journey.
We’re searching for recent graduates who have the curiosity, drive and resilience required to help us on that path.
Together, we believe we can achieve a more sustainable future; a future in which waste is a resource.

REASONS YOU’LL STAY

Diversity of exposure: You will gather experience starting from your local General Manager to your Operations Team and all the way to our Sydney-based Head Office and back. In two years, you will understand all there is to know about our Operations Management and how it functions in the waste and recycling industry.

Operations: You will be working in an industrial environment supporting branches and working with all levels of the business from collection drivers and plant operators to Operations Managers. You will be working in depots, transit stations and recycling facilities.

Autonomy: You will have the empowerment you need to be successful and the independence and autonomy to thrive.

Flexibility: You will be given the freedom to prioritise your time and working preferences.

Work that matters: Contribute to a more sustainable future. The solutions you will be representing will support businesses, the community, and the environment.

Career opportunities: We are growing and with growth comes opportunity. Our vision for our Graduate Program is to see you grow and thrive in a fulfilling and long-term career with expertise in operations management at REMONDIS.

WHO YOU ARE

You have graduated in the last 18 months in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or Science, with a sound academic transcript (65> score).

  • Communications: You speak and communicate in English fluently, with clarity of thought, active listening skills and the ability to convey your message effectively.
  • Learning agility: You’ll be able to grasp new concepts quickly, learn from mistakes and stay flexible and curious.
  • Situational adaptability: You’ll be able to read what’s required in any given setting and adapt your approach accordingly.
  • Problem-solving: You’ll be adept at critically evaluating an issue or challenge, being able to think creatively and develop solutions.
  • Motivation: You’re driven to progress in your career and want to make an impact in the waste and sustainability arena.

Every rotation came with a sense of surprise and anticipation. I could have a good guess at what was in store for me, but with a new team and sometimes even a new location, I was faced with new experiences and more opportunities to learn.
