Diversity at Santos

7.7
7.7 rating for Diversity, based on 23 reviews
Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
I work in a fairly male dominated department of my company. I see the manager trying to recruit, support and retain more female engineers into the team. Great child care and maternity leave packages.

Santos appears committed to diversity but should maybe celebrate events supporting ethnic minorities, indigenous people and the LGBTQIA+ community through external events with staff attendance as well as in-house presentations with morning tea.

Have not seen any particular quotas on hiring based on any demographic. Would say there is a reasonably even gender ratio in the office, considering most engineers graduating are male.

I think the commitment to diversity is there. As stated before, I am wary that a potential over-commitment to diversity is compromising other decisions being made in the company.

Being an inherent male-dominated industry, it is difficult to judge diversity with respect to women. My team, however, is equal male-female split.

In my experience, the company is diverse and my colleagues seem to be accepting others and treat everyone with respect.

Diversity is actually pretty good within the company

There appears to be a reasonable diversity of backgrounds by todays standards in corporate environments. Diversity is welcomed in recruitment but people are not given jobs just because of it. Everyone appears to get the same go at promotions, childcare, maternity leave etc.

Santos has a good commitment to diversity. But there are issues with retention and promotion.
