Shiok Meats is looking for a Research Assistant to work on cell line development. This is a laboratory-based position in our Australia satellite lab, with opportunities for collaboration across R&D groups in Singapore, Australia and Thailand. Due to the dynamic and collaborative environment of our organization, this role will require someone who can not only work individually but also as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Isolate stem cells, and primary cells and establish crustacean and mammalian cell lines.
• Cell culture routine includes media changing, passaging, and cryopreservation of cells.
• Screening of culture medium optimal for the growth of cells.
• Identify and meet with external vendors, research partners and resources where appropriate.
• Assist in setting up lab space in Australia.
• Manage lab inventory, maintenance of equipment and ordering of consumables, reagents and equipment.
• Rigorous documentation of experimental procedures and data.
• Communicate results in a timely and effective manner.
