Spiketech are a boutique professional services company operating in the Travel and Transit industry in Australia. Spiketech works with Travel & Transit operators to help them improve their passenger operations. Spiketech also deliver, implement and help operate the best rail & bus reservation solution available globally. We believe that we are the best in the Australian market for what we do and we're looking for the right candidate to join our growing team. 

The role is focused on helping to support one of our major customers in Sydney, who are in the process of implementing our reservation solution. The Junior Systems Analyst role will encompass some activities undertaken by a Business Analyst, but will be more focussed on Systems Analysis and the technical proficiencies desired, as detailed below. Once the solution is implemented, the role will also require the delivery of after-hours, on-call support.

We operate from a modern co-working space in a dedicated office in the central CBD in Sydney and whilst we expect the role to be fulfilled from the office, we are flexible with regard to hybrid working arrangements.  

Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Gathering, documenting and analysing business & system requirements 
  • Writing Business Requirements documents
  • Writing System Requirement documents
  • Writing and executing manual & automated test cases
  • Fault diagnosis, triage and incident logging and follow up with development teams
  • Researching and assessing current processes, technologies and systems in order to gain an understanding of the problems and challenges to be overcome
  • Working closely with key business decision makers as well as development and testing teams to offer support on what solutions will best fit the business’ needs, now and into the future
  • Liaising with developers and system architects to ensure the system is correctly implemented
  • Monitoring solutions for continuous improvement
  • Producing training manuals and/or user documentation to support newly adopted systems, technology or procedures
  • Liaison with customers in demanding support situations
  • After-hours on-call support
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with a “can do” attitude 

 Qualifications 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience or knowledge of the following Technical Proficiencies highly desired: 
    • Automated test tools
    • API definition / swagger files
    • POSTMan scripts
    • SQL scripting
    • HTML/CSS/Javascript
    • Systems Administration
