Your role

The HR function is state-of-the-art and in a changing world continuously evolving. Due to the unique position of Swiss Re in the re/insurance industry, they can deploy impactful people solutions, leading the way for human capital changes in the industry.

You will support a small team of 5 which comprises their Head HR Australia & New Zealand, HR Advisors (incl payroll) and HR Administration Associate who provide end-to-end HR support to the Australian business, leveraging their global HR centres of excellence.

They have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a small dynamic HR team. You will gain exposure across the complete HR lifecycle in addition to best practice HR initiatives within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recruitment assistance including interview scheduling, job description formatting and reference checks
  • Preparation of employment contracts and other employee-related documents
  • Maintenance of online employee records and filing
  • Coordination of employee onboarding including managing inductions and checklists
  • Processing of invoicing and expense claims reconciliations for the HR Team
  • Processing of employee recognition awards and monthly anniversaries including issuing vouchers and coordinating content and announcement dates at our fortnightly all-staff gathering
  • Support line management/employees in resolving day-to-day human resources queries directly and via the contact line
  • Other ad hoc activities or projects as required.

About you

Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in an administration role preferably within professional services
  • In your final year of a Business, Human Resources, or related degree
  • Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources
  • Excellent Microsoft skills incl. Word, Excel and MS Teams (preferable)
  • Proactive, organised, detail-oriented and hands-on with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work to agreed timelines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, team player with a customer-orientated mindset
  • HR administration experience including experience using an HRIS will be highly regarded
  • An Australian citizen or Permanent Resident
