Your role

As a Cybersecurity Graduate at Thales, you will work on mission-critical systems in a variety of technologies and domains, such as aerospace, simulators, underwater systems, cloud, and communication networks. Many of their contracts are with local defence and government agencies, and they need the brightest grads to join their cybersecurity team and help secure these systems.

On any one day, you can expect to:

  • Learn about the end-to-end systems engineering process, and gradually take ownership of different parts of the cybersecurity solution
  • Identify cyber threats and vulnerabilities of a complex system, and assess the risks and business impact
  • Capture cybersecurity requirements and translate them into solution designs that are resilient to attack and failure
  • Cross-collaborate with teams across the Thales business, to implement, test, and deploy cybersecurity solutions to the clients
  • Ensure their solutions meet relevant cybersecurity accreditations and certifications, and document the process.

Career progression

Starting in February each year and spanning two years in duration, the Graduate Program consists of a variety of learning modules in different locations nationally. These are structured training modules, as well as self-directed learning activities, and on-the-job training; giving you exposure to all the different areas of the business. As part of the graduate development program, graduates will also have the opportunity to work in project teams and develop innovative solutions for business and customer-related problems.

About you

Here’s what they are looking for in this role:

  • Recently degree qualified in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum credit average, or be in the final year and graduating 
  • Have basic programming and scripting skills
  • You are a natural relationship builder and have strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • You love working in a team environment and value diversity
  • You are curious by nature, focused on the result, and love to keep continuously learning!
