At Transpower, we stand together to keep the lights on for New Zealand - planning, building, and operating the system and managing the significant asset base that powers our country and lives, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We are committed to enabling accelerated electrification and a more sustainable energy future.
About the team
As part of our Asset Information Management group, the GIS team is responsible for maintaining and developing Transpower's Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The team works closely with our Property and Environment, Grid Development, Grid Delivery and Grid Projects Divisions and partner with contractors, consultants and external agencies.
About the opportunity
We're seeking an enthusiastic Geospatial Analyst to join us for a 12-month fixed term.
Drawing on your excellent analysis and customer service skills, you'll assist the team by providing high-quality geospatial services to users and agreeing to priorities - including delivery of spatial analysis and information, maps, data maintenance, web applications and user training.
You'll support our customers to gain maximum value from Transpower's GIS products, systems and services by helping to prepare training material and providing coaching to enable them to access data and toolsets.
Because Transpower's business needs and requirements are changing rapidly, you'll add your input to the current processes, standards and workflows and work with the team to improve them.
Your qualification in GIS will have honed your understanding of asset management principles and enabled you to develop proficiencies in the asset management discipline. And you'll have the opportunity to work alongside our Principal and Senior Geospatial Specialists, who utilise the latest ESRI technology, to broaden your knowledge and understanding of this fascinating and expanding field within the utility sector.
